TAKING WOMEN's LAX IN KC
TO ANOTHER LEVEL

Westside Wild is a registered 501c3 nonprofit lacrosse club focused on growing youth girls lacrosse in the Kansas City region.  It is open to girls grades 3-8.  We are one of the few nonprofit girls lacrosse clubs that offer playing opportunities year round.  Our staff puts in an exceptional effort because we care about the sport and want to see it grow in Kansas City.  In a short period of time we have helped to develop some of the most talented youth players in the city and we are only just beginning.

Over the past few years, Westside has really developed into a two-part program.  During the spring and in other seasons, we continue to try and introduce this wonderful game to more and more girls in the KC Metro.  Outside of spring, we run youth travel programs for girls in the KC area.  Our travel program has had success, we would like to continue to build upon that and prove girls from KC really can go very far with lacrosse.

If you are interested in the spring KC league, please visit the spring season tab.  If you are interested in the Westside Travel Team, please visit the travel program lacrosse tab.

OUR TEAM

The Westside staff for local programs in the KC Metro is different than the travel team coaches though the consistent factor is all involved are passionate about helping the sport grow in the KC area.

Below are the primary coaches for the spring metro league and the coaches for the travel team program are listed on that tab.

Chris Harrington
DIRECTOR

Chris grew up playing lacrosse in Yorktown Heights, NY, one of the most talented lacrosse towns in the country during the 80's and 90's.  He went on to play in 3 Division 1 national championship games, winning two of them, for Princeton University from 1998 to 2001.  At Princeton, Chris was second line middie/4th attackman and on man-up for his sophomore through senior seasons.  He moved to the Kansas City Metro in early 2006 and has helped coach various youth and high school teams over the years.  Chris is one of the few coaches in Kansas City that truly understands the stick skills needed to play high level Division 1 lacrosse, whether it be men's or women's.  He now has daughters in the Olathe School District playing lacrosse.  Chris is focused on driving participation in women's lacrosse by offering low cost compelling playing opportunities that stress the importance of developing stickwork.  Westside will always provide clear communication to parents and players to set proper expectations that lead to a better experience for all involved.

Scott Gilman is the Head Coach for the Saint James Academy (SJA) lacrosse team. He helped launch the program eight years ago. Gilman grew the team from a JV only program to a Varsity and JV program that has improved their record every season. Through continuous improvement every year, St. James has established itself as one of the top teams in Kansas City, and now some players from St. James go on to play in college.  Gilman also helped launch the West Side Wild youth program that is one of the newest lacrosse clubs in the region, but through strong growth has the largest number of youth participants of any program.  Prior to lacrosse, Gilman coached both boys and girls high school basketball winning a city championship with his boys’ program. Coach Gilman has also coached youth, high school, and college football.

ERIN RAUBER
COACHInG STAFF

Picture
Erin grew up in Chesterfield, MO and played lacrosse at Benedictine College. During Erin's time at Benedictine, the team never lost a conference game, receiving three bids to Nationals (COVID cancelled 2020) and playing in a National Championship in 2019. Erin was named an NAIA All-American in 2019 and 2021, and she was a team captain her senior year. She graduated in 2021 and moved to Kansas City to start medical school at KU School of Medicine. Since she didn't start playing lacrosse until high school, she is passionate about helping kids get involved at a younger age and she loves helping grow the game in the Midwest.
